Parkinson's story Art

Jonny always drew as a child but 2 yrs after his diagnosis he picked up a pencil and a sketch pad again.

He initially started to draw to tell the story of his diagnosis by creating little characters from the first letter of his surname 'A' which was made into a short film.

'My Dad: His Parkinson's through My 9 year old eyes.'

The twenty six separate drawings in this video were all drawn by hand. over a 4 month period in 2018. The wording was added through things his daughter said and did in the initial 2 yrs after his diagnosis. It ws released on social media in January 2019 and it was shortlisted for the World Parkinson's Congress in Kyoto, Japan in July 2019.

One post on social media commented after watching it that it was 'A poignant short film telling the story of a daughter's journey with a dad with Parkinson's.'

A Parkinson's diagnosis is a whole family diagnosis. Everything will change but love remains, hope remains but courage is pulled from the depths in young and old alike.'

Parkinson's Symptom art

His style developed further when he used the letters in words to create symptom art that educates.

By combining the symptom name, within a cartoon scene, and a simple strap line it helps the public to have a better insight into what it feels like.
